Children's Products Recalls

Hazard: The swings pose a suffocation risk because they were marketed, intended, or designed for infant sleep, and they have an incline angle greater than 10 degrees in violation of the federal safety regulations for Infant Sleep Products and the Safe Sleep for Babies Act. The swings also violate other requirements for infant swings and the labeling requirements for Reese's Law because the remote contains a button or coin-cell battery.

Hazard: The recalled bassinets violate federal safety regulations for Infant Sleep Products because they do not have a stand, posing a fall hazard if used on elevated surfaces.

Hazard: The twin stroller violates multiple safety regulations for strollers. The front seat in the forward-facing configuration poses an entrapment hazard to children. In addition, failures with the restraint system and rear seat enclosure pose a fall hazard to children. In products with a black grab bar, the foam padding on the grab bar can pose a choking hazard if the child bites it.

Hazard: The T-bar located at the front middle of the chair can become loose and fall or break off while the high chair is in use, posing a fall hazard to children.

Hazard: The wooden base can detach from the wooden rod and release the three plastic rings, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Hazard: The recalled children's pajama sets violate the flammability standards for children's sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

Hazard: The plastic housing surrounding the AC power adapter supplied with some Rest 1st Generation sound machines can come off when removing the adapter from the power outlet, leaving the power prongs exposed and posing a shock hazard to consumers.

Hazard: The training wheel assembly knob can loosen and detach from the bicycle, posing fall and injury hazards to the riders.

Hazard: The brown handle strings contain levels of phthalates that exceed the federal phthalate ban. Phthalates are toxic if ingested by young children and can cause adverse health effects.

Hazard: The recalled sling carriers violate the safety requirements of the Safety Standard for Sling Carriers, including requirements for structural integrity and occupant retention, posing a fall hazard to babies. Additionally, the sling carriers pose a suffocation hazard because they fail to meet the federal safety standard's requirements for restraint systems, as the waist restraint can be used without the crotch restraint. Further, there are no warnings or instructional literature providing information to caregivers about keeping the baby's face clear to prevent suffocation or safe positioning, to prevent the baby from curling into a position with their chin resting on or near their chest. Sling carriers manufactured after January 30, 2018 are subject to the mandatory federal safety standard.

Hazard: Infants can suffocate if they roll or move on the crib bumper in a position that obstructs breathing. Padded crib bumpers are banned under federal law.

Hazard: The children's pajama sets fail to meet the flammability regulations for children's sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

Hazard: The helmets do not comply with the dynamic strength of retention system, impact attenuation and certification requirements of the CPSC federal safety regulation for bicycle helmets. The helmets can fail to protect in the event of a crash, posing a risk of head injury.

Hazard: The recalled log splitter's hydraulic cylinder rod can separate from the piston, preventing the wedge from retracting. Reengaging the rod to the piston can cause the rod and wedge to move unexpectedly, posing injury hazards.

Hazard: The children's pajamas fail to meet the flammability standards for children's sleepwear, posing a burn hazard to children.

Hazard: Pieces of broken needles were found inside some quilts and quilted shams, posing a laceration hazard.

The failures include not having a stand and not meeting the requirements for side height, sleeping pad thickness, and fabric-sided openings. The product's sides are shorter than the minimum side height limit; the sleeping pad's thickness exceeds the maximum limit; and an infant could fall out of an enclosed opening at the foot of the lounger or become entrapped.

Hazard: The recalled children's pajamas violate the flammability regulations for children's sleepwear, posing a risk of burn injuries to children.

Hazard: The recalled mattress violates multiple provisions of the Safety Standard for Crib Mattresses, including the thickness test, and is missing the required warnings and labels. The product poses a suffocation hazard to infants.

Hazard: The recalled crib mattresses violate the federal safety regulation for mattresses by failing to meet the flammability and labeling requirements, posing a fire hazard to children.

Hazard: The recalled high chair, which converts into a booster seat, violates the safety regulations for both high chairs and booster seats. Multiple failures were identified including, but not limited to, insufficient restraint system, stability, static load, latching and locking mechanisms, leg openings, warnings, labels, and literature. The product can tip over or collapse and present a fall hazard to children.

In addition, the high chairs pose finger laceration and entrapment hazards as they failed to meet mandatory requirements under the high chair standard.
