Hazard: The blower's impeller (fan) can separate from the base and break apart, causing plastic pieces to be blown out of the machine, and pose a laceration and impact hazard to consumers. The flying pieces also can cause property damage and injury to bystanders.

Hazard: The muffler's outer shell can melt allowing exhaust gas to exit from the bottom or back side of the muffler. The exhaust gas may cause damage to the fuel tank creating a possible fire hazard for the user.

Hazard: The backpack blower's muffler support bracket can break, creating an opening in the muffler body. Hot exhaust gases could then escape from the muffler and melt the fuel tank or ignite grease or debris around the fuel tank, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The heat from the hedge trimmer's muffler can damage the fuel tank, cause a fuel leak and create a fire hazard.

Hazard: The muffler's retaining bolts can allow the muffler to come loose from the engine while the hedge trimmer is in operation. A loose muffler can contact and damage the fuel tank, creating a fire hazard.

Hazard: The fuel cap on the hedge trimmer can leak, posing a fire and burn hazard.

Hazard: The catalytic muffler can overheat and damage the fuel tank, posing a fire hazard.
