Hazard: The water heater's flame arrestor can fail to work properly, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The water heater's gas burner screen develops tears. The water heater's burner can then create excess radiant heat, posing a fire hazard if the water heater is installed directly on a wood or other combustible floor.

Hazard: The water heater's combustion chamber can be misaligned and heat the exterior walls of the water heater instead of the water. Combustible material near the outside of the water heater can catch fire, posing fire and burn hazards.

Hazard: The water pumps with the recalled motors are labeled as containing a one-horsepower motor, but actually contain a 3/4-horsepower motor. Under certain conditions, the smaller motor could overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Hazard: The water heater's flue gas temperatures can exceed safe limits and produce excessive temperatures in the venting unit, posing a fire hazard. Also, the water heater's exhaust can leak into the surrounding room, posing a carbon monoxide hazard.

Hazard: The fan's electric motor can be miswired and overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The water heaters can accumulate soot on the burners, posing a fire hazard.

Hazard: The motor in the circulating pump can overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.
